The train was delayed, and Margot found herself cradling a lukewarm cup of coffee, gazing out the window of the station cafe. Raindrops traced transient stories across the glass, each with its own beginning and end; a romance in water, a tragedy in gravity.

Meanwhile, the aged clock on the wall ticked with a voice of authority, commanding each moment to the future. It was the rhythm of unspoken agreements. Then, a sudden 'clang' of forgotten cutlery echoed the space — an unwritten agreement captured in the silence of breathfelt apologies.

Margot did not know it yet, but in that moment, the looped bracelet she wore broke, scatterings of tiny stones onto the floor like timelines abandoned. She would meet someone who'd remember nothing but the color green.
