Theatre of Memories

Once, there was a small box
with a tin hat on its head
and a wishing star stuck
to its side.

Inside this box
lived marbles that looked
at the moon and asked
if they could dance.
Long ago, some cups whispered
secrets to the teapot,
who told the ocean
a tale about biscuits
that never crumble.

They said rainbows
are sidewalks for
clouds excited to
meet sunshine.
A fish in a pocket
once held hands
with a clock that
tick-tocked time into
stories of puddles
jumping rope with
stars.
