The Last Words of a Dying Star

★☆★☆★

Once upon a time, in a vast purple sky,
A star shined bright and said hello to a sigh.
"Close your eyes little star," it whispered so small,
"Listen to my story told before I fall."

"In the dance of my light, I've played many games,
Flickered with colors, like fire, like flames.
But my song gently fades, like a breeze on the sea,
Remember me as twinkling, forever carefree."

Little stars blinked back, in their heavenly glade,
Holding close the dreams where star-dust is made.
"Goodbye dear sun!" the tiny voices would beam,
"In the love of the night, may we always dream."
