Coordinate Dispare

Once upon a cloud, I found little numbers floating
They whispered secrets in a language only dreams understand
I tried to catch them, but they danced away
Shadows were playing tag with the sunbeams
And I was lost in the middle of a number field.

In this dream, I saw:
2, 4, 6, and lots of 8s hiding behind trees.
They wanted to tell me a story,
But the words were shy and hid under my bed.
Cuddle with clouds or wander through numbers?
Sometimes, I wish I could sleep forever.

Maybe if I close my eyes tight,
The coordinates will stop moving,
And shadows will let me play with them
Under a blanket of star-dots.
