Once there shined a big, bright light,
In the hugest blanket of the night.
"Hello," it said with a glow so bright,
"I’m fading now, oh what a fright."
Waves in the pool, oh how they dance,
But a star whispers, lost in trance.
"I shone for ages, did you know?"
"I sang to the moon, but now I go."
Tiny spirits listen near,
Their ghostly hearts begin to tear.
"Goodbye," it says, "but don’t you cry,"
For I’ll laugh with the clouds up high."
