Glimpses of Yesterday
Once, there were daisies by the window.
They danced in the breeze like little girls in summer dresses.
We used to count the clouds and name them.
Our giants and dragons fluffed from cotton.
Dreams whispered under the covers, tales we never finished, stories with no endings.
Sometimes I see the sun hiding,
peeking through the curtains with sleepy eyes,
remembering the laughter that lived here once.
Dust dances in the light like silent snowflakes,
reminding me of the passage of paper boats on puddles.
Time trickles away with the rain.
Come back with me, time tells a gentle tale of shadows.
