Footprints in the Starlight

Once upon a twinkling, a little explorer found a path
where no footsteps had danced before.
The clouds were pillows and the ground was soft moss.
Alien flowers giggled as they peeked out to say hello.

The little one whispered secrets to the wind,
"Do you have friends in the stars?"
The stars twinkled back, like winking eyes.

With each step, cracks in the earth opened,
yawning like sleepy giants.
"Are you hiding treasures?"
A frown from the fissure, a smile from the star.

And who knows what lies below?
Perhaps a dragon, or a friend, waiting to play hide and seek.
