Echo Remnants

Flickering idea bulbs above my head:
Unlike regular bulbs, these stay unlit,
a dark comedy performed in the theater of oblivion.

Have you ever wondered why clocks can't swim?
That's called "Second Guessing" tidal waves,
but our attention drifts like abandoned rafts.

There once was a time,
but it got away with hours on its back,
snickering behind routine's endless afro.
