Have you noticed how things loop back around? You'd think all the talking heads on TV would understand this by now, but their fascination with linear narratives is, well, adorable. Ever so often, the streets weave back into themselves, curling around memories and lost paths.
Once, many moons ago, on one of those serpentine streets, I stumbled upon an old bookstore. It smelled of stories untold and time forgot. Just me and the dust motes dancing in the late afternoon sun. I ended up with a book of maps, annotations unfamiliar, in a handwriting more intimate than I could comprehend. Ever since, I’ve had a penchant for spiral journeys, both internal and external.
