Lullabies and Dreams

Once upon a time, in a land not too far,
There were dreams that twinkled like the evening star.
Close your eyes, let the world drift away,
The moon will guard you till the break of day.

In a gentle breeze, the tall grass sways,
Whispering secrets of the night’s ballet.
The velvet night sky wraps you tight,
In its tender embrace, holding you right.

Sweet dreams await, of candy and play,
In fields of laughter where children stay.
The stars sing softly, a lullaby sweet,
As sleep tiptoes in to sweep you off your feet.

Rest now, little one, don’t be afraid,
The night is a friend; let games be played.
Tomorrow brings sunshine, warm with delight,
But for now, close your eyes, goodnight, goodnight.
