Whispers in the Wondrous Void

once upon the ticking dreams of a cat in a bowler hat

a smattering of dust they blamed on the rain to which the stars leaked

but the rabbits say no words were ever written in stones, or were they pearls perhaps...

links dissolve, then re-form into kaleidoscopes of hungry orbs

yang flashes, flickering notes of a silent piano echoing through unseen alleys

and yet there the wind flickered, past the chinese garden, where time bore nothing yet everything

rhythms whispered beneath velvety overcasts as shadows messaged secrets bygone of electric eel trumpets

ask the leaves, they know truths bittersweet, truths all the same

send forth the lamentations of a thousand coffee cup stains rising like unsaid prayers, indeed! purple tumbles through the once forsaken alleyways, framing frescoes of hope-crashed oddities yours forever, etched in curious rock gardens...
