Blushing Dawn

When the sky unfolds, soft hues like secrets to a lover,

The sun sneezes, each silken ray carries dreams of sleeping fish,

And shadows dance as whispers tickle time itself.

A wooden ship carved from a child's wish sails atop a sea of teeth,

In every barn owl sits a history, misspoken chorister.

Lavender sighs curl from moments like smoke from unasked farewells.

The bitter sweet laughter of pancakes served upside-down,

Marmalade-wearing raccoons momentary critics of moonlight,

While clocks engage in stochastic rendezvous, lost—

What voice, then, holds sway over the thoughts left unguarded?

Are eternal echoes chirping, bound in heavy frock-coats of silence?

Blushing dawn, stir away this nonsense feathers & figments.
